Michael H. Levine, Ph.D.

Dr. Michael H. Levine is executive director of the National Campaign for International Education in the Schools, the Asia Society’s initiative to ensure that children and youth learn about other world regions, cultures and languages. Michael is also a senior associate at the Yale University Bush Center in child development and public policy, where he focuses on early learning program and policy development.

Previously, Michael served as executive director of the I Am Your Child Foundation, working to expand public awareness and policy interest in young children’s healthy development and school readiness. He received his Ph.D. in social policy from Brandeis University’s Florence Heller School, and is a frequent adviser to the U.S. Departments of Education and Health and Human Services. He also serves on the national advisory boards of Scholastic, Inc. and Child Magazine.

Calvin L. Lyons – Director of Partnerships

Calvin 150x150 Calvin L. Lyons   Director of PartnershipsCalvin L. Lyons is the Director of Partnerships at Talaris Institute, reporting to the Executive Director. As Director of Partnerships, Calvin contributes to the Talaris mission by providing team leadership, partnerships vision and strategy.

Calvin joins the Talaris team from Rainier Scholars where he directed all aspects of the educational non-profit including general business operations, fundraising, marketing and program operations. Calvin has a BS in Organizational Leadership and Supervision from Purdue University, an MBA from Pepperdine University and recently completed the Executive Leadership Program at Seattle University.

When not at the office, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, traveling, chess (collects chess sets from around the world), and exercising.
